Some pieces begin with a commission. Others begin with curiosity—ideas held in a sketchbook until they need to come to life. This is where those pieces take shape, and where an occasional finished work may be waiting for a home.
Taking Shape
Window Bench
This piece began in the sketchbook and was inspired by the work of Pedulla Studio, then reimagined for the particular life it will serve.
The bench will give Harper, a much-loved collie, a comfortable place to watch the world outside. Beneath it, a full roll-away drawer will create generous storage and stand up to the everyday energy of two active children.
An India-ink black waterfall shell will frame natural maple strips and trim. A subtle maple reveal will hold the padded top quietly in place.

From flat stock to form.
The build begins with preparation, then moves through the jigs, pressure and assembly required to make the sketch real.

Building the jig.
Sometimes the hardest part is building the jig required to shape, glue or assemble the piece. Here, 45-degree clamping blocks create the 90-degree pressure needed for a seamless waterfall grain match. This jig will be saved for future waterfalls.

Putting it to work.
With the jig in place, pressure can be applied evenly across the joint. As the saying goes, you can never have enough clamps.

The shell takes shape.
The basic outer shell comes together, turning the first lines of the sketch into the form of the bench.

Console Table

A one-of-a-kind table shaped by the contrast between richly figured walnut and quiet maple. Its flowing apron and restrained proportions allow it to live comfortably in an entry, hallway or behind a sofa.
Built as an exploration rather than for a particular commission, it is finished and ready to become part of a home.
