Harmony
Harmony is found when function, materials and responsibility support one another. Sometimes the most thoughtful design begins with what is already at hand.
Nothing Wasted
A constraint became part of the design.
A client needed a cabinet for a record player and collection of vintage records, with one unusual condition: I could not buy wood. The piece had to be built entirely from material remaining from other projects.
That limitation made good sense. Scraps can be discarded or burned, or they can be given another purpose. By allowing each board to influence the design, the cabinet met the functional need while respecting the material already in the workshop.

Arrival
A transition can do more than separate rooms. It can create anticipation and signal that something meaningful lies beyond.
An Invitation
The room begins before the doorway opens.
These double sliding doors were commissioned for a modern farmhouse whose primary bathroom had recently been renovated. The room beyond had been given careful attention, but its entrance did not yet carry the same presence.
Built at substantial scale with restrained detailing, the doors create a quiet sense of anticipation and introduce the space with the same care found inside it.
